Usage: Mainly used to manufacture high-performance epoxy resin curing agents that are heat-resistant, non-toxic, underwater construction, and quickly cured by heating. It is the raw material for polyurethane resin and synthetic functional epoxy resin. It is also used in rubber additives and photosensitive plastics. , pesticides, coatings, nylon products, fiber finishing agents, anti-rust agents, chelating agents, lubricants, paper processing, etc.

Production method: Using a mixture of m- and p-xylene as raw material, it undergoes ammoxidation reaction with air and ammonia to generate m- and terephthalonitrile. After washing with water and drying, catalytic hydrogenation is carried out in ethanol and potassium hydroxide solvents at a pressure of 4.5MPa and 90°C. The catalyst is removed from the reaction solution, ethanol is recovered, and distilled under reduced pressure to obtain meta- and para-xylylenediamine.
