Polyisobutylene (PIB) is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic viscous or semi-solid substance with good resistance to heat, oxygen, ozone, weather, UV, acid and alkali. Polyisobutylene is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic isobutylene homopolymer. Due to different preparation methods and process conditions, the molecular weight of polyisobutylene varies in a wide range. Most products will change from a viscous liquid to a viscous semi-solid, and then transition to a rubbery elastomer when the molecular weight reaches 10,000 to 200,000 or above. Polyisobutylene is resistant to acid, alkali, salt, water, ozone and aging, and has excellent air tightness and electrical insulation.
